Chisinau, 19 August /MOLDPRES/- The Governmental Commission for Reintegration of Country (CGRȚ) held a meeting today to consider current situation on the Transnistrian conflict settlemeny, the situation in the Security Zone, the telecommunications and other topics of interest, the Office for Reintegration Policies has reported.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic informed about the evolution of the situation on the Transnistrian case and the impact of the new coronavirus pandemic on the interaction between Chisinau and Tiraspol, and efforts to unblock free movement during this period.
During the pandemic, the Reintegration Policy Office provided assistance on over 500 complaints notifying the political representative in Tiraspol and actors of the 5 + 2 negotiating format by urging to remove unconditionally unjustified barriers to free movement and to respect citizens’ rights.
On 17 August, 37 illegal posts were reduced to 15 illegal posts and 4 blocked roads, which continue to impede free movement for the population.
Cristina Lesnic showed positive dynamics on the record in the State Register of the population of Moldovan citizens, documented in accordance with the Moldovan legislation. Also, the dynamics of registration of means of transport with neutral model plates was presented to the commission members.
An important issue focused on the dynamics of the meetings of the sectoral working groups at expert level, 23 meetings being held.
In the Security Zone, the unilateral actions adopted by Tiraspol violate the statutory acts of the Joint Control Commission, obstructing human rights, access to free movement, medical services and other humanitarian issues. Individual cases and complaints to the Office for Reintegration Policy were examined as a matter of priority.
It was found that certain processes and normative acts related to some economic activities in the Transnistrian region are to be adjusted and / or filled out, as required to set up a working group to review the national framework and adapt to the current reality.
Also, the situation in telecommunications was heard to ensure the interconnection between the two banks of the Dniester, the level of implementation of the protocol decision, the difficulties and problems encountered.
The educational institutions with teaching in Romanian in the Transnistrian region and the mobility of students, teachers and auxiliary staff was a topical issue from the perspective of ensuring all necessary conditions for removing barriers to free movement.
The commission members exchanged views on achievements of the reunification meeting, as well as future steps in strengthening confidence-building measures between both banks of the Dniester.
