Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/- Authorities could return to certain restrictions if the number of COVID-19 infections continues to grow. Prime Minister Ion Chicu made the statement today.
Last week, a high number of infections with the new coronavirus has been registered, due to non-compliance of the protection measures by citizens. "Last week we saw a significant increase in the number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic. The explanation is that everyone disobeys the rules. If we continue like this, the number of cases will increase and we will come with restrictions,” he said.
In this context, the prime minister noted that the events dedicated to Independence Day will also take place in a limited format. He said that amendments to legislation to support agricultural sector will be approved in early September.
He recalled that the decision had been taken to reopen educational institutions on 1 September and said that not all institutions might be able to prepare and get permission to operate.
