Moldovan foreign minister meets British envoy

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/- Foreign Minister Oleg Tulea today met Steven Fisher, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Moldova, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.

Discussions focused on topical issues on the Moldovan-British bilateral agenda, especially those related to the further development of cooperation between the two states after the negotiation and signing of the Political and Trade Agreement, which will transpose the provisions of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement in bilateral relation with the United Kingdom and will include both the political and economic component.

Other issues were related to cooperation within international organizations, regional situation, focusing on the latest developments in Belarus, Transnistrian issue and facilitation of the visa regime for Moldovan citizens wishing to travel to the United Kingdom.

There was also an exchange of views on countries' efforts to recover the situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic and to meet the economic challenges caused by it in both states.
