Moldovan president attends commemorative event on 75th anniversary of Victory Day

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon participated today in a ceremony of transmitting to the Military Museum 150 tubes-cartridges of 14.5 mm caliber with earth taken from the graves and memorials of the fallen soldiers of the World War II from about 160 settlements of the country. The event took place at the Center for Military Culture and History.
According to the presidential press service, the event is part of the national action plan dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory Day.
Dodon noted that by organizing such events, the deeds of bravery of the soldiers who fell on the battlefield 75 years ago are kept in memory.
Also, the president pointed out that it is very important both for us and for future generations to be aware of the price paid by our ancestors so that today we can enjoy a peaceful life in this land and make our future in peace.
He thanked the the leadership and military of the National Army for involvement and effort to organize and conduct the commemorative action.
