Moldovan PM meets Turkish foreign minister

Chisinau, 26 August /MOLDPRES/- Today, Prime Minister Ion Chicu had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who was on an official visit to Moldova. Officials appreciated the upward dynamics of the Moldovan-Turkish political dialogue and the advanced level of bilateral relations in various fields, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Chicu thanked the Turkish government for the humanitarian aid provided to Moldova in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as for the assistance provided in the repatriation of Moldovan citizens blocked by the pandemic in Turkey and neighboring states.
He appreciated the investment projects implemented by the government of Ankara in Moldova, including Gagauzia, in the context in which an important landmark of the Turkish official's visit is the participation in the official inauguration ceremony of the Consulate General of Turkey in Comrat.
Çavuşoğlu expressed his intention to further deepen bilateral relations. "Currently there are over 400 investment and development projects in Moldova, of which 100 are in Gagauzia. The opening of the Consulate in Comrat is an important step in attracting investors here. My visit coincides with the 29th anniversary of independence, and on this occasion I congratulate the people of the Republic of Moldova ", he said.
1,255 enterprises with Turkish capital are operating in Moldova, the investments in the share capital amounting to 989,267 million lei.
