Moldovan speaker conveys congratulatory message on Independence Day

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Zinaida Greceanii today sent a congratulatory message on Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The message says:
"Dear compatriots,
On behalf of the Moldovan Parliament and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the 29th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova.
On this day we pay tribute to the vote of 27 August 1991 of the 280 MPs who adopted the Declaration of Independence. Their act of courage gave us the historic chance to find our identity, to lay the foundations of the independent state of the Republic of Moldova and create opportunities for the development of the country, in accordance with the visions and aspirations of our people.
The almost three decades of independence have given us many lessons.
The goal of building a prosperous country with happy citizens proud of their state becomes more difficult under global pandemic crisis.
I am sure we will be victorious and we will successfully carry out all beautiful initiatives that we implement for the development of the country and increase of welfare of citizens. We have only one country, the Republic of Moldova. All our thoughts and concerns are for it and people.
