Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- The decision to approve the Regulation on payment of compensation to the descendants of medical staff who died as a result of medical activity in the fight against COVID-19 will be published tomorrow in the Official Journal and will enter into force.

Under the regulation, medical staff directly involved in medical action against COVID-19 are considered doctors, nurses, medical assistants, pharmacists, laboratory technicians and lab assistants, nurses and drivers in pre-hospital care.

The allowance in case of death of the medical staff as a result of the medical activity in the fight against COVID-19 is offered to the descendants, if the death occurred as a result of the infection during the direct performance of the medical activity in the fight with COVID-19.

The allowance shall also be set out from the date of death, if the application and the necessary documents have been submitted within 90 days from this date.

The expenses will be covered from the state budget.
