Moldovan PM attends National Award ceremony

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Today, Prime Minister Ion Chicu participated in the National Award ceremony. The most outstanding personalities from various fields: science, technology, culture, art and medicine were awarded the National Prize 2020 in a gala organized on this occasion, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Chicu thanked the winners for their contribution and effort to develop, modernize and promote the country's image internationally.
He said that although the criteria for nominating the winners led by the National Commission were the same as in the past, this year's competition was a special one. "In 2020, the government has decided to increase the number of awards. This year, six national awards were given to doctors and medical institutions. We are talking about valuable people, who have achieved success in a certain field and by their own example have inspired us all," he said.
The National Prize, worth 100 thousand lei is awarded annually by the government as gratitude for outstanding results that have significantly contributed to promoting the country's image internationally and have had impact on scientific progress.
