School year begins in Chisinau with shortage of teachers

Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/- Municipal educational institutions have a shortage of 600 teachers.

Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici told a yesterday's meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council that "there is a shortage of 600 teachers in the municipal educational institutions".

According to the official, the increase of the teaching norm was the solution found by the managers of the municipal educational institutions to make up for the lack of teachers.The large number of children in the groups of kindergartens represented the solution that is applied to fill the lack of educators.

On 1 September over 9,000 teachers and 120,000 pupils will start working in the 142 educational institutions in Chisinau.
