Over 35,000 children went to first grade this year

Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/- The educational institutions in the country started today the new school year. Over 35,000 children went to first grade, according to data by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.

The first day of school started differently this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, in 75 percent of educational institutions, pupils will be physically present at lessons, and in other schools traditional education will be combined with online.

The country’s leadership and Minister of Education, Culture and Research Igor Sarov conveyed congratulatory messages for pupils and teachers.

The president said "every member of our society who has a school child has understood, to a greater extent than before the pandemic, the role and importance of the teaching profession."

According to the decision of the National Commission for Public Health, children who have returned to class will comply with certain restrictions.

Wearing face masks at the educational institution is mandatory for the staff of the educational institution.
