Romanian-language schools in Transnistria began school year

Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/- Over 1,600 pupils and 400 teachers from Romanian-language schools in the Transnistrian region and other teachers and pupils in schools on the right bank, located in the Security Zone, where teachers and pupils are operating began the academic year 2020-2021 today, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The eight Romanian-language educational institutions in the Transnistrian region are managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and follow the curriculum similar to the institutions on the right bank of the Dniester.
Thus, the Bureau for Reintegration monitored the process of crossing the administrative line to educational institutions assisted by representatives of the OSCE Mission to Moldova. Also, before 1 September the Office facilitated the transfer of textbooks, materials and hygiene products, other requests for technical assistance.
Given the pandemic challenges, the studies were resumed based on the models chosen by each educational institution, as proposed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research to comply with the sanitary-epidemiological rules.
The political representative of Chisinau and the Bureau for Reintegration continue to monitor the process to ensure the observance of the rights of Moldovan citizens to free movement, access to education and exclusion of education from political context etc.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in Moldova, the Office of Reintegration Policy has regularly traveled to the field to assist teaching staff.
