Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/- Today, Prime Minister Ion Chicu participated in weekly meeting with President Igor Dodon and Speaker Zinaida Greceanii. Officials discussed the main issues on this week's agenda, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The premier said that this week, the parliament will resume its activity. During the first meeting, the MPs are to debate and approve several draft laws submitted by the government.
Chicu stressed the need to approve amendments to the state budget law for 2020. In this respect, he pointed out the supplementary budget for education by about 140 million lei, of which 105 million to pay salaries of teachers working over the teaching norm, and other 31 million lei will be used to provide schools with anti-epidemic materials.
The financial support for 660 pensioners getting less than 3,000 lei per month will also be supplemented. In addition to 700 lei, another 200 lei will be allocated.
He noted the need to earmark financial sources to settlements near Chisinau to identify solutions to solid waste management.
The premier expressed concern about the situation in agriculture, which is further complicated by the lack of rainfall. "That means big problems for next year. Therefore, the government is preparing a program to ensure the country's food security ", he said.
