Moldovan foreign minister had video conference with European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Oleg Țulea had a videoconference meeting today with Stella Kyriakides, European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, and discussed cooperation between Moldova and the European Union in health, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.
The EU official was informed about managing the pandemic in Moldova, and Țulea reconfirmed the country's interest in deepening cooperation with the EU in health by participating in several regional and bilateral programs.
These include the new EU regional initiative on health security, as well as other European programs to be launched soon.
In this context, the Moldovan official thanked Commissioner Stella Kyriakides for providing Moldova with observer status in the EU Committee for Health Security, which is an important platform in pandemic management at the Union level.
Tulea expressed gratitude to the member states and EU institutions for supporting Moldova as medical devices and equipment since the beginning of the public health emergency, the first tranche of assistance purchased jointly with WHO was delivered in July, and the second – earlier this month. In the context of global efforts to develop an effective vaccine against Covid-19 virus, the Moldovan official voiced hope that the new vaccine will become available for Moldova.
