International observers, foreign journalists accredited to presidential elections not to be in quarantine

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/- International observers and journalists accredited to the presidential elections in Moldova will not be required to stay in quarantine for 14 days, even if they come from states declared red zone.
The National Commission for Public Health, at the proposal of the Central Electoral Commission, decided yesterday that international observers in the presidential elections planned for 1 November 2020, representing international organizations, foreign governments, non-governmental organizations abroad, international experts in election and foreign journalists will be able to enter Moldova even if they come from the states set as red zone.
At the same time, it was decided that people who will not show clinical signs of respiratory infection, even if they come from countries set as red zone, should not be required to comply with the 14-day self-isolation regime.
International observers will hold proof of accreditation issued by the Central Electoral Commission and foreign journalists - by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. International and foreign organizations may apply for the accreditation of observers only after receiving an invitation from the CEC. The deadline for submission of documents for accreditation is 24 October 2020.
