Exhibition of authentic Bessarabian carpets inaugurated at foreign ministry

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration is hosting an exhibition of authentic carpets included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
According to the MAEIE’s press service, in the context of the actions on the 29th anniversary of Moldova’s Independence and the high level meeting on the 25th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, an exhibition of traditional carpets was inaugurated at the ministry.
The exhibition is organized in collaboration with representatives of the Craft Complex Rustic Art, with the support of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History and will be staged until 24 September.
Attending the event were representatives of the ministry, popular craftsman Ecaterina Popescu, collector and holder of Guinness record Petru Costin and master in art Mihai Potârniche.
Foreign Minister Oleg Tulea thanked the diplomatic staff for active participation in cultural projects.
Also, he awarded Diplomatic Merit Certificate and honorary diplomas to diplomats of the ministry and diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad for professional merits during the early pandemic crisis.
