Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/- The Intelligence and Security Service is an apolitical institution and will not be involved in political disputes.
Director of the Intelligence and Security Service Alexandr Esaulenco said in an interview with MOLDPRES that although there are tendencies to involve the SIS in various disputes, this will not happen. "Those who want to make us violate the principle of apolitical institution will surely be disappointed," Esaulenco said.
According to the official, only correct and timely information of citizens contributes to the promotion of security culture in Moldovan society. "Misinformation and manipulation affect the activity of the Service less, but they certainly produce adverse effects in areas such as social cohesion or civic spirit," he said.
At the same time, he stressed that in a democratic society, the right to free expression is a fundamental one, but that “it is unfortunate that the processes of manipulation / misinformation are inspired by actors who a priori must be trainers of public opinion.
