Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/ - The special school No 12 for pupils with hearing problems from Chisinau today benefited from a donation of protection equipment on behalf of the European Union’s Embassy in Moldova.
The donation took place at the education institution and the consignment of equipment contained 150 masks for pupils with hearing problems from high school forms and teachers. The protection masks are reusable and facilitate the communication between teachers and children or other people, due to the fact that they are transparent in the area of the mouth.
The Moldovan capital’s deputy mayor, Angela Cutasevici, thanked EU Ambassador UE Peter Michalko for the support provided. She noted that the right to education was ensured for these pupils with special needs by these actions.
‘’The communication is quite important for the society. These masks will help much teachers in teaching classes, so that they are explicit and understood by pupils. Children will also be able to interact between them, stimulating the communication,’’ Cutasevici noted.
The special school No 12 is the sole institution from Chisinau which trains and recovers children aged 7-18 years with hearing deficiencies. Presently, 73 pupils with hearing and related deficiencies study here, of whom 48 pupils in high school forms. The education institution was founded in 1981.
