Moldovan, European officials approach parliamentary agenda

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/- The current situation and prospects of cooperation between Moldova and the European Union at the parliamentary level, as well as those within the Eastern Partnership were the topic of discussion at meetings between Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Oleg Țulea and Dragoș Tudorache, European Parliament rapporteur on the Moldova-EU Association Agreement and Andrius Kubilius, Co-President of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, the MAEIE’s press service has reported.
The meeting with Tudorache focused on implementation of the Association Agreement and the priorities of the reform agenda. Țulea reiterated the Moldovan government’s commitment to promote European integration. The main goal is to promote justice reform, fight corruption and socio-economic recovery.
Referring to the European Parliament's Report on the Association Agreement, Țulea voiced hope that the document would reflect in a balanced way the existing problems and achievements.
The discussion with Andrius Kubilius was related to prospects of cooperation within the Eastern Partnership, as noted the importance of developing objectives that will contribute to the continuous rapprochement of Eastern partners, especially the three states associated with the European Union.
Both meetings addressed the political situation and preparation for presidential elections in Moldova, reiterating the authorities’ commitment to ensure the conduct of elections in accordance with international standards.
