Moldovan parliament adopts law on insured subsidization in agriculture

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament adopted the law on the subsidized insurance of production risks in agriculture at a meeting today.  

Under the document, the law’s goal is to stimulate farmers’ access to insurances in agriculture, protect their interests in the insurance process, create possibilities of insuring the harvest’s quality, extend the list of objects and risks, the insurance of which is to be subsidized, stimulate farmers’ crediting through giving possibility of paying the insurance premium by the beneficiaries of the insurance.  

At the same time, the law proposes the payment of the insurance premium in more than two installments, which will reduce the financial burden on the insured agricultural producer.  

The law suggests excluding the compulsoriness of submitting the extract from the register of farmers who signed insurance contracts, issued by local public authorities, as to the existence of the insured asset.

In the final reading, the draft law was merged with the draft law on the amendment and completion of the law on the subsidized insurance of production risks in agriculture.
