Moldova's State Fiscal Service to have extended powers

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - The State Fiscal Service (SFS) will be given powers of carrying out special investigation activities. The MPs adopted a draft law to this end in the second reading today.
Under the document, the concerned powers will regard such offences as the illegal practicing of entrepreneurial activity; illegal practicing of financial activity; pseudo-entrepreneurial activity; fiscal evasion of enterprises, institutions and organizations; fiscal evasion of private people; transportation, preservation or sale of goods subjected to excise duties, without their marking with control stamps or excise stamps; illegal manufacture of state marking signs, their putting into circulation and use; taking possession of, selling in cases not allowed by the law, hiding of pledged assets, which are leased sequestrated or confiscated; deliberate insolvency; fictitious insolvency; falsehood in accounting documents.
The measures suggested are to contribute to increase the collections in the national public budget. They were worked out in line with the recommendations of Moldova’s development partners and coordinated with all relevant authorities, representatives of the business environment.
