Thirteen candidates might participate in presidential elections in Moldova

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) informs that the period of registration of the initiative groups for the collection of signatures for backing candidates for the office of Moldova’s president ended today.
Thirteen initiative groups have been registered in this respect.
Under the provisions of the Electoral Code, all candidates for the position of Moldovan president submit the subscription lists, which contain the signatures of at least 15,000 and not more than 25,000 voters from at least a half of the number of second-level administrative and territorial units of Moldova.
The period of signatures’ collection will end on 1 October.
