Moldovan honorary consulate inaugurated in German city of Kassel

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea has participated, along with German and Moldovan officials, in a ceremony on inauguration of Moldova’s honorific consulate in Kassel, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
Attending the event were the state secretary for European affairs of the federal land Hessa, Mark Weinmeister, Moldova’s Ambassador to Germany Oleg Serebrian, Moldova’s General Consul in Frankfurt Mihail Capatina, as well as other German personalities.
In a speech given at the inauguration ceremony, Minister Oleg Tulea highlighted the importance of strengthening the cooperation with the German lands, in particular, in the economic sector and attracting German investments, Hessa being one of the biggest and most prosperous lands, with a population of 6.5 million residents and a Gross Domestic Product of 330 billion dollars. In the end, the Moldovan diplomacy head welcomed the appointment to office of a lawyer, owner of the bureau of lawyers Posch Frank Rechtsanwälte, Dr. Christopher Posch, known for his work in the media and real estate sectors.
In his speech, Mark Weinmeister stressed the attention given by the authorities of the Hessa land to the boosting of the relations with the partner countries. He noted that the presence of the honorific consulate would contribute to the fostering of the commercial and economic relations with Moldova.
Ambassador Oleg Serebrian referred to the role of the honorary consul in the development of the cultural, academic and scientific relations. For his part, the honorary consul spoke about the present cooperation potential between Moldova and German lands, especially in the industrial sector, of the small and medium-sized enterprises, agriculture and providing services. To promote the goals of the economic diplomacy, a presentation of the free economic zones (FEZ) was made, by giving examples of good practices at the FEZ Balti.
Moldova’s honorary consul in Kassel in his work has the goal to contribute to the development of the relations between the Hessa land and Moldova, especially in the economic, commercial and cultural fields, as well as to provide information assistance, if needed, to Moldova’s citizens from the concerned region.
