Education Minister says Moldova's education system under transformation over pandemic

Chisinau, 15 September /MOLDPRES/ - The coronavirus pandemic transforms the education system of Moldova.

At a today’s news conference, Education, Culture and Research Minister Igor Sarov said the coronavirus pandemic would transform the education system from Moldova into a mixed one, with emphasis put on the online education and a more reduced presence in education institutions.

„Those 32,000 computers existing at present in the education system of Moldova will turn the system with which we have got used into a mixed one,’’ Sarov said.

At the same time, the official specified that the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) had signed a memorandum on cooperation with Microsoft, which will allow deepening the online education system.

“The online education platform, created through the cooperation between MECC and the Chisinau city hall, is a first step towards the education form of the future,’’ Sarov said.
