Moldovan deputy premier meets WHO country representative

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic met today with Country Representative of the World Health Organization Igor Pokanevich, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The sides addressed the access to medical services, developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, WHO recommendations for the Transnistrian region, assistance provided by epidemiological products and equipment and perspectives for interaction.
On 6 May, following the WHO visit to the region, a set of recommendations was presented to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to the left bank of the Dniester.
Previously, several trainings were held for medical specialists on both banks of the Dniester, with the contribution of the WHO Office in Moldova.
Currently, over 18,000 people in the Transnistrian region are medically assigned to medical centers on the right bank of the Dniester, and over 12,000 people receive subsidized medicines.
Officials exchanged views on the self-isolation of the Transnistrian region, access to the region, free movement and epidemiological situation.
