Almost half of Good Roads for Moldova 2020 programme carried out

Chisinau, 18 September /MOLDPRES/ - More than 300 km of roads or 40 per cent of the figure scheduled have been restored within the Good Roads for Moldova 2020 programme so far, according to the State Administration of Roads (ASD).  

The programme is implemented concomitantly in 33 districts and in the Chisinau and Balti municipalities. The programme provides for works of periodical repair and maintenance. ‘’On 18 September, about 303 km of road worth 462 million lei have been carried out, accounting for over 41 per cent of the overall volume of investments,’’ ASD sources said.

According to the institution, more than 2,000 employees are daily involved in the programme, of whom 1,000 workers on construction sites. The repair works are monitored by technical decision-makers of the State Administration of Roads state enterprise, which ensure ‘’the observance of all technological standards and  process.’’ ‘’To ensure the quality of the works carried out, samples are collected and tests are made at the Administration’s Laboratory of Tests,’’ according to ASD.   

The Good Roads for Moldova 2020 programme provides for the rehabilitation and maintenance of local, village roads and streets, with investments amounting to 1.125 billion lei, provided from the state budget.
