Romania - main trading partner of Moldova

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/- Romania's imports from Moldova have exceeded several times Moldovan imports of the Russian Federation. This was stated by the National Statistics Bureau on foreign trade for seven months of 2020. Thus, according to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI), "Romania has become the main trading partner of our country both for export and import.”
According to BNS, the Moldovan export to the European market in seven months of this year amounted to 893.5 million dollars accounting for 64.7% of total exports, and imports - 1.326 billion dollars.
Also, the volume of Moldovan exports to Romania in January-July 2020 amounted to 357.05 million dollars.
Imports from Romania in seven months of this year amounted to 348.73 million dollars. "Thus, Romania has become the main trading partner of our country, both for export and import, purchasing in the reference period the largest volume of Moldovan products and ranked first in supply of goods in Moldova," MEI said.
The second largest trading partner of our country in the top ten countries of the European Union is Italy, on the market of which, during the reference period, we exported products worth 124.2 million dollars and imported goods worth 192.7 million dollars. Among the main European countries in which our country exports its products are Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, France, the Netherlands.
Export of Moldovan goods on the CIS market amounted to 220.8 million dollars with a share in total exports of 16%, and imports amounted to 733.6 million dollars. In the Russian Federation, exports amounted to 137.49 million dollars, and exports of Russian products to our country amounted to 337.61 million dollars.
In the other countries of the world, in January- July 2020, Moldova exported goods worth 264.9 million dollars and imports worth 829.6 million dollars.
