Chisinau city hall set to resume education process in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall will analyze possibility to resume the education process at the municipal education institutions in conditions of usual activity. The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, made statements to this effect at a today’s operative meeting of the city hall’s services.
The mayor said that the city hall was receiving requests on clarifying the situation as to the resumption of the usual process of activity in schools and kindergartens. ‘’My request comes in the context when we impose the strict observance of the measures of preventing the infection with COVID-19 in the education institutions, while the agglomeration is present in leisure zones, public pubs and public transport and people seem not to have heard about coronavirus and social distance,’’ Ion Ceban said.
According to the latest data, the following situation is recorded in those 147 primary and secondary education institutions from the Chisinau municipality: pupils sick – 106, pupils in self-isolation – 1,669; teachers ill – 74, teachers in self-isolation – 43; non-didactic staff sick – 20, non-didactic staff in self-isolation – 11. At the same time, 48 classes from 23 institutions are in quarantine regime.
The Chisinau city hall made a call on parents with children institutionalized in Moldovan capital’s schools and kindergartens, in which it demands the observance of the measures taken by the education institutions as to the prevention and ceasing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
