Interim President of Superior Council of Magistracy resigned

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- Acting President of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) Anatol Pahopol resigned today. His request was accepted by most members of CSM.

Pahopol said that last week, there have been two public statements by some members of the Council, who criticized his work as head.

"We tried to discuss these issues. On 1 September 2020, a MP submitted a complaint to the Constitutional Court on the constitutionality of the law. On 21 September one vote was not enough to suspend the law. Regardless of the result of the examination of the notification, I think I do not have the moral right to continue exercising the interim position ", he said.

Immediately after the resignation request was accepted, Anatol Pahopol left the CSM meeting.
