Moldovan cabinet votes for amendment of agreement on financing on behalf of EU

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet members today voted for starting negotiations and approving the signing of the Addendum No 1 to the agreement on financing between the Moldovan government and the European Union on the development of rural zones in Moldova, signed in Chisinau in July 2017.

The draft Addendum No 1 to the financing agreement represents an intergovernmental treaty and the agreement subjected to amendment sees the providing of financial assistance (grant) worth 63.83 million euros.

The goal of the Addendum is to extend the period of the agreement’s operational implementation by 12 months. Also, some technical amendments are introduced, such as the updating of names.

The initiative to initiate talks on the Addendum to the concerned Agreement belongs to the European Commission, in order to facilitate the procedures of implementation of the Single Support Framework (SSF) for the support provided by the European Union (2014-2017).
