Fines imposed for non-observance of prophylaxis measures might be decreased in Moldova

Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/ - The fines imposed for the non-observance of the measures of prophylaxis, prevention and combating of epidemic diseases, as well as the public health measures might be decreased. The juridical commission for rules and immunities approved a draft law to this effect today.
Under the document, the fines will drop from 22,500-25,000 lei at present to 2,000-5,000 lei for private people. The fine will amount between 10,000 and 35,000 lei for legal entities, as compared to 50,000-75,000 lei, as it is at present.
At the same time, the commission members propose fining for the repeated committing of the same contravention. Thus, for this contravention, a private person will be punished with fine worth from 15,000 lei to 25,000 lei and a legal entity – with a fine amounting from 50,000 lei to 75,000 lei.
The document also sees the diminution of the fine also for the deliberate unveiling of forged or incomplete data or refusal to present data necessary for filling in the epidemiological form from 22,500-25,000 lei to 2,500-7,500 lei.
The parliament is to adopt the draft.
