Ceiling of main hall of Moldova's National Philharmonic falls in wake of fire

Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/ - The ceiling of the main hall of the National Philharmonic’s building fell to the ground in the wake of a fire which burst out today afternoon. Ten crews of rescuers and firemen work on the spot.
According to the Interior Ministry’s General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), at 14:15, the ceiling of the main hall of the National Philharmonic’s building gave way. The intervention was complex, as the construction of the roof is made of clay and wood.
Ten teams of rescuers and firemen continue to work on the spot, in order to extinguish the fire. At 12:43, the fire at the Philharmonic got a high degree of intervention. To manage the intervention, a general staff was created on the spot.
Today afternoon, firemen from Chisinau were alerted to liquidate a fire which burst out on the Mitropolit Varlaam 78 Street in the yard of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic.
