Fire at Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic extinguished

Chisinau, 25 September /MOLDPRES/- At 10:05, the employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations / IGSU / announced the liquidation of the fire inside Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic.The fire destroyed almost the entire building, destroying both concert halls.

IGSU press officer Liliana Pușcașu said that firefighters and rescuers continue to carry out the dismantling and removal of construction materials that present danger, and will also evacuate the sound library from the library of the National Philharmonic.

President Igor Dodon, Prime Minister Ion Chicu and mayor Ion Ceban went to the philharmonic this morning. They announced the opening of a special bank account and the launch of a campaign to renovate the National Philharmonic.

The premier assured that the government will take all necessary measures in support of cultural heritage.

Yesterday, a fire burned over 3500 m2 of the building of the National Philharmonic Serghei Lunchevici. The fire burned even more musical instruments.
