Chisinau, 25 September /MOLDPRES/ - The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) has established the first versions of the bursting out of the fire in the building of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic.
According to IGSU’s press service, the anti-fire experimental laboratory, which carried out an investigation on the spot, set forth three versions. The first one is a defection of the electric equipment. The second version is a short circuit in the electricity network and the third hypothesis is the non-observance of the rules of anti-fire defence while carrying out works of cutting metal.
The IGSU press service also said that specialists would continue investigating all circumstances, in order to establish the most likely reason for the occurring of the fire. The conclusion of Inspectorate’s employees will be based on a conclusion compiled by the anti-fire experimental laboratory.
On 24 September afternoon, a fire burned up more than 3,500 square metres of the building of the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic. The fire destroyed the building almost completely and both concert halls were devastated.
A technical expertise of the building’s walls will be carried out on the next days and depending on the results, a decision will be taken on the following scenarios: demolition of restoration of the building. If a decision on full demolition is taken, it will be carried out till next winter.
