Moldovan diplomacy head participates in informal meeting of council of foreign affairs ministers of Black Sea Economic Cooperation states

Chisinau, 25 September /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea today participated in an informal meeting of the foreign affairs ministers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) member states, dedicated to issues on strengthening the cooperation with the countries from the Black Sea region, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
Welcoming the initiative on the organization of this discussion by Romania’s chairmanship-in-office of BSEC, Minister Oleg Tulea highlighted the important role of the regional platforms in facilitating the joint efforts aimed at diminishing the pandemic’s negative consequences.
Oleg Tulea stressed that the challenge represented by the present crisis had sped up the process of reflection as to the need of new approaches and visions for the cooperation in the international multilateral context, which is to comprise flexible and innovative measures at diverse levels, including through promoting a more extended digitalization of the connectivity.
Referring to the importance of implementing the joint projects, Minister Tulea underlined, in particular, the activities on consolidating the cooperation in the field of commercial relations and transports, which can be carried out within BSEC.
The Moldovan diplomacy expressed also Moldova’s appreciation for Romania’s continuous commitment as to the strengthening of the regional cooperation in the Black Sea region and optimizing BSEC.
The Black sea Economic Cooperation Organization is a regional structure of cooperation in the economic sector, set up on 30 April 1999. The organization’s founders are 11 states: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
