Students from Moldova to be able to enter Romania by presenting confirmatory acts

Chisinau, 25 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s citizens who are accepted to education will be allowed to enter Romania, as an exception, according to more normative acts, on the condition of presenting one or more documents which prove the goal of the trip to Romania. The Romanian Embassy in Chisinau, which took note of the information appeared in the local media, alleging the not allowing of access of Moldovan students to Romania, today made statements to this effect.
„As a result of the inter-institutional steps taken at the level of the Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Border Police, taking into account the legal framework in force, adopted in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, decision-makers clarified the situations faced at the entrance in Romania by students from Moldova admitted to education. Therefore, these students were allowed access to Romania as an exception, according to the Article 2, paragraph 1, point 2, letters g) and i) from the Annex 3 of the Romanian Government Decision No 782 from 14 September 2020, on the condition of presenting one or more documents proving the goal of their journey to Romania,’’ reads a press release by Romania’s Embassy.
Thus, the Moldovan citizens admitted to education in Romania must present at the crossing of the border: the proof of acceptance to education, issued by the National Education Ministry, which is to prove that the student will have day education at a higher state education institution or private one provisionally accredited or authorized, under the law; documents proving the acceptance to education, issued by a higher education institution from Romania; information on behalf of education institutions on the need of presence in Romania for the formalities dealing with the beginning of the university year/taking over the accommodation place in hostel.
According to the diplomatic mission, decision-makers analyzed also the situation of the minor pupils who study in Romania, in the sense that the parents and the people accompanying them are allowed to enter Romania, being fit for the situation provided for in the Article 22, paragraph 1, point 2, letter g) from the Annex 3 of the Government Decision 782/2020 namely in the category of people who travel for imperative reasons.
„It is necessary that the accompanying people, who are not parents of a minor pupil, fill in at the border crossing point a declaration on their own responsibility, which is to prove the goal of their travel to Romania,’’ the Embassy of Romania in Moldova also said.
