Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved a decision on starting negotiations and approving the signing of the Amendment No 2 to the contract on financing between Moldova and the European Investment Bank (EIB), for the carrying out of the project on roads’ restoration in Moldova, signed on 25 June 2013.
Under the cabinet decision, Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Serghei Puscuta was empowered to sign this Amendment. The Moldovan government approved a similar decision on the Amendment No 1 in July 2018.
The Amendment No 1 was aimed at extending the final date of the availability of financial means provided based on the financing contract till 22 June 2022. The reason of this fact is the prolongation of the duration of the carrying out of the works of national roads’ restoration and the non-assimilated remaining sum from the project, worth about 100 million euros.
The financing contract between Moldova and EIB, worth 150 million euros, for the carrying out of the project on roads’ restoration in Moldova, was signed in Luxembourg on 25 June 2013.
