Moldova's Customs Service reports revenues worth about 16 billion lei since early 2020

Chisinau, 1 October /MOLDPRES/ - The collection of revenues of the Customs Service (SV) have been estimated at 16 billion lei in the first nine months of this year, with over 2.1 billion lei collected in the state budget in last September.  

„During the last month, 47,313 customs declarations were compiled and 338 infringements of the legislation were found out. The most frequent infringements refer to the non-declaration or unauthentic declaration of consumer goods, violation of transit terms or the terms of submitting the customs declaration and exceeding the term of stay in Moldova of touring cars introduced and declared through action. Also in the concerned period, 240 official reports on contravention were compiled and fines worth more than 913,000 lei were imposed.

According to the institution, in September 2020, the flow of transport means stood at 130,107 crossings. The most transited customs checkpoints were Leuseni and Giurgiulesti, with 39,945 and, respectively, 24,173 crossings.

The Customs Services manages the Single Call Centre (+373 22 788 888), where one can get information 24 hours about the rules of crossing the border with diverse goods and register denunciations on eventual abuses committed by SV’s employees. In last September, operators of the information line answered 3,560 requests for information dealing with the customs.    

„In the context of the epidemic situation, we urge the participants in the cross-border traffic to be informed only from official sources about the conditions of crossing the frontier imposed in the destination countries, including the transit ones,’’ the Customs Service said.
