Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu chaired a cabinet meeting today. In the beginning of the event, Chicu asked to present information on the kidnapping of an employee of the Interior Ministry (MAI) from the northern Floresti district, Camenca settlement, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The MAI state secretary, Sergiu Golovaci, said that the forces in charge of the identification of the place of stay and release of the police employee had been mobilized. The PM demanded the undertaking of all measures to this end. ‘’Please, take all needed actions for the release of the MAI employee, our citizen, by using all instruments and platforms which we have in this respect, OSCE, Joint Control Commission. Inform both me and the society,’’ Chicu noted.

The government ruled to allocate about 1.8 million lei from the reserve fund for liquidating the consequences triggered by the torrential rains in Comrat from 29 October 2020. The money will be earmarked to clean the channels for the evacuation of rain water and arranging the protection dam from the city.

„To avoid such situations in the long run, that small river must be cleaned, just as many other rivers. We analyze how much the removing of the consequences costs us and we realize that it is much easier to make these prevention steps. As for the other districts hit by the calamities, we expect this equally quickly, in order to help the citizens,’’ Ion Chicu said.

The prime minister stressed the importance of monitoring the evolution of the pandemic and focusing the capacities of the medical system. Health Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu said that more places had been found in municipal medical institutions and 336 beds would be activated all over Moldova in all. In October, Moldova will benefit from the first consignment of 41 ambulances from Turkey, due to be distributed in strategic places.

In September 2020, the National Health Insurance House (CNAM) transferred about 446 million lei (needed money for covering the staff expenses) to providers of medical services, of which about 91 million lei represents the necessary sum for increasing the salaries of the medical staff from the public medical and sanitary institutions. Thus, in last September, about 43,000 medical employees benefited from salary increases.

Also, the PM highlighted the importance of providing the one-off financial support worth 900 lei to pensioners. The Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS) reported that, starting from the first day of October, more than 205,000 beneficiaries had begun receiving this financial aid, concomitantly with the date of pension’s reception. The people will be able to receive the money till the end of 2021, if they had no possibility to move to the post office or do not have a bank card at the moment.

Starting from 1 January 2021, the information on the contravention files will be provided by inspector examiners to the State Fiscal Service (SFS). Presently, organizational structures keep the record of the sum of contravention fines imposed and have no information on the sums paid. Thus, the procedure of reporting will ensure the record as to the calculation and payment of fines and watching the integral collections.

At an initiative by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC), the government approved the creation of a memorial plaque of composer Alexei Starcea on the façade of the Alexei Starcea art school on the Matei Milo 9/3 Street in Chisinau. The spending will be covered at the expense of the Chisinau city’s budget and donations.

The cabinet members ruled to displace the Art mosaic, which had been earlier set on the central and lateral façade of the cinema hall of the Trade Unions’ Republican Culture Palace. Under the decision, the mosaic, with the overall area of 230 square metres, is to be restored and set on the façade of the auxiliary building of the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Education, Culture and Research Minister Igor Sarov informed the PM about the present situation at the National Philharmonic. MECC identified temporary rooms for the Serghei Lunchevici Philharmonic’s employees. Therefore, the artistic staff was transferred to the Nicolae Sulac National Palace and Palace of the Republic.
