Internal Protection and Anticorruption Service registers cyber attack against Moldovan Interior Ministry's civil servants

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - Officers of the Internal Protection and Anticorruption Service (SPIA) of the Interior Ministry (MAI) have taken notice of a cyber attack at more MAI phone users, civil servants, including against Interior Minister Pavel Voicu.
According the quoted source, the attack showed itself through abusive calls from more phone numbers. Following the measures undertaken, decision-makers established that the goal of the cyber attack was to block the network of the subscriber.
At the same time, mobile telephony operators confirmed the fact that the attack had occurred from outside Moldova.
In the context, SPIA will open a criminal file for the unauthorized access to the telecommunications networks and services. If found guilty, the people involved run the risk of a fine worth 167,000 lei or up to five years of imprisonment.
