DA Platform MPs submit simple motion against interior ministry

Chisinau, 19 November /MOLDPRES/- Today, DA Platform MPs submitted a simple motion against the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The motion was supported by PAS.

The authors of the motion note that the Ministry of Interior is unprepared to fight the activities of criminal groups, the challenges organized by paramilitary groups in the Transnistrian region and fails to protect the rights and freedoms of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

"We note that the policy of the Ministry of Interior in the last year has been a disastrous one, which tolerated the activity of paramilitary groups that abducted the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, and we noticed a tolerance for elements and cases of corruption within the MAI which have not been investigated ", the motion reads.

The lawmakers asked the MAI to come up with a report on combating the activity of Transnistrian paramilitary groups and to draw up an agenda on the training of MAI employees and measures to protect them in the Security Zone.

The text of the simple motion was submitted to the speaker and will be debated in the parliament within 14 days. The simple motion is debated and is accompanied by the opinion of the standing committee. The approval will be made within 7 working days from the submission of the motion.
