Deputy prime minister meets Ambassador of United Kingdom to Moldova

Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari today met Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Moldova Steven Fisher. The officials discussed Chisinau’s priorities in the Transnistrian settlement field and promoting policies of the country’s reintegration, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.

Olga Cebotari reiterated Chisinau’s interest in the peaceful and sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian file and the need to maintain a permanent and constructive dialogue in all formats of negotiations agreed upon, in order to find viable solutions to current problems, in the interest of Moldova’s citizens.

The deputy PM stressed the importance of the support provided by the UK both at the political level and in the development processes.

The Moldovan official thanked especially for the assistance provided in the humanitarian sector and in the field of observance of human rights in the Transnistrian region, as well as for backing the approach on getting a comprehensive settlement, which observes Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Also, the sides stressed as priority the dimension of strengthening the institutional capacities in the sphere of strategic communications and emphasized the availability of assistance programmes on behalf of the British authorities in this respect.

The sides expressed full openness for continuing the cooperation and its extending in new sectors.
