Moldovan capital's residents to pay tax for sanitation as of 2021

Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall will introduce a tax on sanitation starting from 2021.
The Moldovan capital’s city hall today informed that the local authorities’ budgetary and fiscal policy for 2021 implied the adjusting of local taxes on the territory of the city, according to the inflation rate, as well as the introduction of new taxes, such as the one for sanitation.
According to the information unveiled, the local taxes have not been increased since 2004 and the tax for sanitation will bring an income worth about 100 million lei to the municipal budget.
Among the local taxes due to be adjusted to the inflation rate, there are the tax on market, on advertising devices, on land management, tax on parking.
In the context, the local public administration specified that the taxes for the providing of motor passenger transport services in the area of the Chisinau municipality, for each vehicle (mini-bus, bus) are maintained at the level of the 2020 year.
If Moldova’s commission for emergency situations ceases the work of economic agents, because of the declaration of the emergency situation triggered by COVID-19, the subjects of taxation are exempted from taxes during the period of ceasing the activity.
