Moldova, Bulgaria to boost bilateral cooperation

Chisinau, 4 December /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi spoke yesterday by phone with Bulgarian counterpart Ekaterina Zaharieva. The two officials emphasized the importance of a strengthened dialogue on issues of common interest in the Moldovan-Bulgarian relationship, as well as the need for effective cooperation between the two countries at regional and multilateral level.
According to the MAEIE press service, the officials addressed a number of issues on the common agenda between the two states and agreed to continue actions at the level of sectoral experts in order to strengthen bilateral dialogue and resume high-level contacts. In this respect, Ciocoi invited Zaharieva to pay a visit to Moldova.
The Moldovan official thanked the Bulgarian side for the constant support for Moldova's European integration and in continuing the reforms, including the assistance provided in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Aureliu Ciocoi and Ekaterina Zaharieva emphasized the role that ethnic Bulgarians in the Republic of Moldova play in the development of Moldovan-Bulgarian bilateral relations, welcoming the development projects implemented by the Republic of Bulgaria, particularly in the field of education, culture and research.
The sides agreed to boost cooperation relations to turn to good account the existing potential, which is considerable, including in regional organizations and multilateral formats of cooperation.
