International Fund for Agricultural Development informs about new grants appeal

Chisinau, 4 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Consolidated Programme Implementation Unit of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (UCIP-IFAD) has informed about the starting of the Appeal II for submitting the applications on grant to finance measures of adaptation of the agricultural production systems to the climate changes. The applicants can submit the file in electronic format till 18 January 2021.
To benefit from grants, applicants must fit more eligibility criteria. They should prove that they are enterprises registered in any organizational and legal form or private people registered (peasants’ farms or individual farms), which practice agricultural activities or activities of processing farming production in rural zones of Moldova, except for the units working on the Chisinau and Balti cities. The enterprises which are recorded in Chisinau and Balti, but which have branches or undertake agricultural activities, will be regarded as eligible.
UCIP-IFAD provides grants for the partial reimbursement of investments as follows: 70 per cent of the cost of investment/agricultural technology, but no more than 5,000 dollars per beneficiary; for cooperatives – 50 per cent of the cost of investment/agricultural technology, but no more than 15,000 dollars per one applicant for grant.
