Moldovan head of state meets group of Lithuanian lawmakers

Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met a group of MPs of the Seimas (parliament) of Lithuania, members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, on a working visit to Chisinau, the presidential press serviced has reported.

The discussion was focused on the security and humanitarian situation in the region and Moldova’s Euro-integration efforts after getting the status of country candidate for EU.

The head of state thanked for the support from which Moldova had benefited on behalf of Lithuania during time, as well as for the backing in the process of getting the status of country candidate for accession to EU. The Lithuanian lawmakers reaffirmed their support for the country’s European integration and expressed willingness to share Lithuania’s experience of joining EU with their colleagues from Moldova.
