Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - The tariff for the servicing of lifts in the Moldovan capital has been increased by 80 per cent starting from 1 August 2022. The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) adopted a decision to this effect.
So far, the tax paid for this service has been of 15 lei for one person and beginning with the next month, it will be 27 lei.
At the CMC meeting, the director of the Liftservice enterprise, Petru Budurin, said the enterprise was in a difficult financial situation and did not have money for the employees’ salaries. ‘’This year in the first five months, we registered losses of 608,000 lei (about 30,400 euros),’’ Budurin stressed.
Following the discussions, the draft on increasing the tariffs for the servicing of lifts was backed with the votes of 30 out of those 50 municipal councilors. Last time, the tariffs were adjusted in 2009.
The Liftservice enterprise manages about 2,300 lifts in Chisinau. More than 95 per cent of them have exceeded the exploitation term, which is of 25 years.
