Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - A grant worth 660,000 euros will be provided by the European Union for the construction of an Agricultural Hub in the south-eastern Causeni district, within a pilot project. The agro-industrial complex will be endowed with modern infrastructure, installations of cleaning, packing lines, equipment for cooling and processing of fruits and vegetables.
„The construction of this Agricultural Hub will allow small producers to sell their goods at its true value. The starting of such a project represents the success and the pragmatic involvement of the mayoralty. At the same time, this is an example which can be followed also by other local public authorities of the country, in order to back the farming sector,’’ new Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea said at the event.
The project represents a considerable support for the economic growth of the Causeni district and creation of jobs locally and regionally through the implementation of innovating and efficient approaches in agriculture, for the benefit of small- and medium-sized enterprises. Also, through the project, new opportunities will be provided to producers from the region to access bigger markets and extend the volume and diversity of production.
The project is part of the Mayors for Economic Growth Facility (2021-2024), phase II, financed by the European Union for backing mayors and the cities and towns from the Eastern Partnership countries, including Moldova.
