Moldovan president meets speaker of Gagauz People's Assembly

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met the speaker of the People’s Assembly (local parliament) of the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauz-Yeri, Dmitri Constantinov. The sides tackled subjects on the social and economic situation in Moldova and the Autonomy’s relations with the central authorities, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state referred to the need to consolidate efforts, in order to ensure the peace and good understanding in the society, as well as to help the citizens overcome the crises triggered by the war in Ukraine. ‘’We have common goals – the country’s well-being and the citizens’ safety, jobs for young people and good conditions for living – and this make us more united and stronger before the challenges,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
The discussion was focused also on Moldova’s European integration and the actions which must be undertaken to ensure a better informing of the people about the integration process and its benefits.
