Director of Moldova's National Probation Inspectorate accused for abuse of power

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - The director of the National Probation Inspectorate (INP) today was accused of abuse of power.
According to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, on the period 2019-2022, the concerned official would have concluded, on behalf of INP, more contracts on the procurement of assets and services of small value, without them to be planned. At the same time, the director is charged with fact that he would have concluded unplanned contracts with a mobile telephony company, amounting to about 300,000 lei (about 15,000 euros).
Following these actions, the institution’s director is accused of having caused damages worth 676,259.14 lei.
After the accusation, anticorruption prosecutors submitted an approach to the Justice Ministry on the official’s suspension from office.
