Moldovan president meets head of southern Taraclia district

Chisinau, 14 July /MOLDPRES/ - The current problems of the southern Taraclia district were tackled at a meeting between President Maia Sandu and the head of this administrative and territorial unit, Ivan Paslari, on 13 July.
According to the presidential press service, the discussion was focused on the situation in agriculture and the needs to invest in the district, as Taraclia had won more projects in the first phase of the European Village programme. In the context, the head of state emphasized the importance of the correct spending of public money, so that the investments contribute to the change of the quality of people’s living.
At the meeting, the sides also considered the subject of the Grigore Tamblac State University. According to the Moldovan president, all higher education institutions must meet the quality standards and improve the level of professional education of young people. The head of state noted, at the same time, that the University should become a centre of culture, training and information in this region where ethnic Bulgarians live.
